The season changes, the moon cycles, and still we walk our dogs at dusk, still we light a candle before meals, still we stitch our lives into this changing tapestry with the routines and rituals that we uphold. If I were to lose all else, I hope that I could hold on to a thread of gratitude to keep it all from unraveling.
Early evening walk after work to clear our heads. We passed two weddings on the beach and numerous couples walking hand in hand. We had a comfortable awareness of the other people enjoying their individual stories while we walked in our own cocoon created by the mist diffused light and the sound of the waves.
Last Friday, a package was delivered to my house. It wasn’t our usual delivery man. As I took the box, I realized that I didn’t know the name of the driver who normally drops off our online purchases, so I couldn’t easily ask about his well being. I am generally so focused on receiving my stuff, that I only make superficial talk with the delivery person. This got me thinking about my values. Isn’t the human interaction with a person who cheerfully delivers packages to my door more important than the material stuff that I’ve ordered? Why is it so difficult for me to ask their name and about their lives?
I’ve really been enjoying @lisaloveslenormand YouTube channel. (I highly recommend her book too) in one episode, she shows how easy it is to create your own Lenormand deck using playing cards. I find this deck that I created surprisingly easy to read. It is helping me learn which playing cards match each Lenormand card as well.
Heading off the island where I live to pick up clay for our pottery studio. Traveling with dogs and Tarot deck! We caught a super early boat so my daily draw is on the truck’s arm rest. I am practicing carrying my home alter with me everywhere in my imagination so that I can tap into it wherever I am.
