I am doing a daily Tarot draw asking Spirit, what message do you have for the world today, what guidance, to help us manifest our highest good?

Today, I called out to ALL of our spirit guides, ancestors, and guardian angels, and the messages coming in were so individual that I ended up pulling three sets of cards. Maybe one of them will resonate with you.

First Draw:
Message to the World
April 1st, 2020
The Clover + The Home + The Lady – Lenormand clarifiers

In this draw, I am interpreting THE LADY as representing something domestic. (It can also be our feminine side, ourselves if we identify as female or a significant woman in our lives). The Clover stands for good fortune, luck, and The House for our household and homes.

This first message shouts out to all of us who are starting to feel like being shut in is a stroke of good fortune. Our forced inaction is allowing us to rekindle domestic interests, or igniting new ideas for home-based projects. Spirit today encourages us in these pursuits, whatever they might be. It could be doing things together with our families, exploring new domestic talents like cooking, sewing, redecorating, or maybe launching podcasts and live streaming videos from our homes on topics that interest us. Good for us!

Second Draw:
Message to the World
April 1st, 2020
The Whip + The Ring + The Heart – Lenormand clarifiers

In this draw, I am interpreting The Whip Lenormand as representing “beating ourselves up about something,” The Ring as promises, and the Heart is our loved ones or something that we love to do.

The second message is to STOP beating ourselves up if today’s events are keeping us from fulfilling promises that we’ve made to loved ones, or to ourselves about interests that are dear to us.

We know best how to push our own buttons, and when we don’t fulfill promises that might be sacred to us or measure up to personal ideals, we come down harder on ourselves than others might. Especially when we are isolated, or scared, or feel powerless, it’s easy to self-sabotage.

Maybe we are unable to visit elderly family members who are in assisted living facilities despite vowing long ago that we would always be there for them. Perhaps we can’t take our children on the vacation that we promised them, or, even, had to cancel our wedding.

All fitness classes and facilities are closed, and maybe we just don’t have the space to continue at home, despite our best intentions.

Whatever it might be, this message is to forgive ourselves for these circumstances that are beyond our control. Stop wasting energy self-flagellating for things we can’t do anything about, and turn our focus on what we can do, instead.

Third Draw:
Message to the World
April 1st, 2020
The Bear + The House + The Dog – Lenormand

In the Nine of Cups, I always see all of those chalices up on the pedestal behind the figure as representing the man’s loved ones and emotional connections. He sits proudly in front of the display, saying, “These are my riches.” You will notice, too, that he is keeping an acceptable social distance from them. His arms are crossed in front of him. He is not touching, hugging, or breathing on them.

The Bear can represent protection. The House Lenormand, our household, our close friends and family. The Dog Lenormand, trustworthiness, loyalty.

This third message is to keep up the excellent work! Our shelter-in-place is helping to protect the people that we hold dear.

1st Draw: THE LILIES + THE HOUSE + THE SERPENT – Lenormand
2nd Draw: THE TREE + THE CROSS + THE BIRDS – Lenormand

The King of Cups reversed illustrates that this forced confinement inside our homes, deluged with disturbing news from the world, threatens our equilibrium. Emotions are running high, and risk capsizing us.

I drew the Lenormand clarifier cards twice because the first draw was not clear to me. Lilies Lenormand can represent the elderly or mature people in our lives. It also illustrates purity, calm, retirement, relaxation. The Lilies + The House + The Snake combination could indicate that we have a choice in our actions and reactions between purity and calmness, and lashing out at people poisonously. It could also mean that the elderly people in our homes are threatened by an outside poison or deceit.

The second time I drew the clarifiers, I pulled The Tree (health), The Cross (heartache), The Birds (siblings, flock, chatter). These three cards emphasize that heartache and trepidation about the health of ourselves and our loved ones, and the constant gossip or chatter about health, are also destabilizing our emotions.

Our message from Spirit today is to work to maintain emotional balance. If we have to tune out the world around us to do so, so be it. If we are in close and constant proximity to our housemates, we can try finding a separate nook, putting on headphones or earplugs, and immersing ourselves in our favorite music, in drawing or crafting, in a good novel, in meditation. Anything to give our hearts a respite from the outside chatter. If we are isolating alone, we can turn off our social media and our phones for a couple of hours, and do something for ourselves that requires our complete focus. Turning our attention from the external noise and worry to something creative or nourishing, will ease our hearts.

Message to the World
March 17th, 2020

This morning’s message is so clear.
We need to step up, transcend our egos and selfish needs, and look out for the elderly people in our lives.

The House Lenormand (our households) + The Lilies Lenormand (specifically, the elderly) + The Tree Lenormand (health).
The Lenormand trio is bluntly telling us that this message pertains to the well being of the elderly people in our households.

The Major Arcana Judgement card is letting us know that our actions will impact the vulnerable people that we love, and we need to keep that at the forefront of our minds. Stay mindful. Act with purpose. Our choice of behavior will either protect or harm those vulnerable to the coronavirus in our homes and villages.

We need to be honest with ourselves about our motivations, and if those motivations are not to help and protect, stop, and rethink what we are doing.

These cards, to me, talk once again about the coronavirus.

The Book Lenormand card represents all the knowledge that we haven’t learned yet. The unknown.

The Crossroads + the Book + the House might well affirm that we are being required this week to make choices about our home, household, and our families without really knowing what to expect.

We don’t have the information that we need to make informed decisions, and we are being asked to do so anyway.

Should we stay home from work? Is it okay to invite friends over to our homes? Is it a problem if the kids go to the park to play? Will they be bringing contaminants back home? Is it okay to visit our elderly family and friends? At this time, there is no general way of knowing who is infected. We could be carriers.

The Nine of Cups Reversed validates that the people we love are our greatest treasures and that we are scared for their safety.

I think our message from Spirit is to be concerned. We SHOULD be worried and err on the side of caution and keep our homes safe. Let us employ precautions without panic. Stay home, hydrate, savor the time with your loved ones. Be smart about visiting the elders in your life.

So much is unknown, err on the side of caution.

Message to the World

The Tower Lenormand card stands for isolation. It can also represent corporations and large businesses. The Letter Lenormand card speaks of written correspondences. The House Lenormand card is seen as your home or household. These three cards combined allude to how workers are being asked to work from home, to diminish the spread of the coronavirus.

The Seven of Pentacles shows a worker, stopping their toils momentarily to contemplate their progress.

Our message today is to take advantage of this change in routine to assess our work.

This is a rare chance, standing out of the daily grind of our workplace, to step back and to really think about our jobs. We spend the majority of our week working. Do the fruits of our labor align with our higher calling? Are there things that we could do differently when at work to produce more satisfying results? What do we overlook when we trudge on our usual treadmill? Do we find joy in our vocation? What are we grateful for?

Working from home gives us a rare opportunity to stop our toils, lean on our hoes, and think about what we are building in this world.

THE HOUSE – Lenormand

The Eight of Swords warns us that we may have prejudices and self-sabotaging beliefs that are blinding us to our potential.  The House Lenormand card tells us that these ideas originate in our homes.

Although this could be pointing out that people in your household have stereotyped you into a role that no longer fits, I think this message is more about the information that we allow into our homes.

How many of us watch TV? If we do, we are constantly bombarded with messages from advertisers trying to sell us products, convincing us that we are imperfect unless we buy their solutions. Women aren’t beautiful if they aren’t thin. Men need to be fit and assertive. We will be happier if we purchase x, y, or z.  In sitcoms and movies, love is often all about physical chemistry and not friendship. People are valued by their financial abundance and not spiritual wealth or kindness.

I feel that our message today is to look clearly at the information that we absorb every day, in our homes, whether it is from the people around us or the entertainment that we watch, and measure it against what we hear in those moments when Spirit fills us. Maybe make a list with one column for what the media and external sources are telling us about ourselves, and one for what Spirit affirms.  Then, make sure that we find a way to filter out sabotaging voices and open up to what strengthens us.
