I asked Spirit what message do you have for the world today to guide us towards our highest good?

As things start to reopen, we may find ourselves juggling two different perceptions. On the one hand, we have our expectations of things going back to normal, on the other is the reality that it still isn’t safe to stop social distancing.

We may have been yearning for our lives and routines from three months ago, and eagerly awaiting the go-ahead to go shopping, go back to work, see our friends and colleagues.

Be prepared for delays and troubles. It is going to be hard to carry both our wishes for how we remember life to be alongside the logistics of being out of isolation with the contagion still present.

It might be easier to let go of the past and focus on doing the best we can today with our circumstances.

For all of us who are attempting to learn from home or explore new career paths and means of income (Ace of Pentacles), today’s message acknowledges that having a world-wide shelter-in-place order is posing some obstacles and delays.

Specifically, the challenges (the Mountain) have to do with the ability to meet or connect with people, perhaps issues with our phone service and internet being SOOOO slow with everyone online. (The Birds: small gatherings, conversations, chatter.)

However, the outcome is The Book, which stands for learning, education, and knowledge. So breathe and be patient. It will all work out. These times will lead to new innovative workarounds, and despite the challenges and delays, Spirit encourages us to stick with it.

Second draw:
THE DOG – Lenormand
THE LILIES – Lenormand

The Stars and the Tower fell out together – I see this pair as representing the internet. The Tower could be the “server towers,” which host and serve all of our online content, and the Stars are all of the sparks of connectivity.

When I first saw the Lenormand grouping, I was perplexed. There are a lot of different interpretations possible, so I did the Lenormand drawing again and pulled the Dog and the Lilies.

Our message today is to heed the warning/challenges (the Mountain) that the internet and social media are talking about, and stay put. Stay isolated (the Tower). Change plans, change perspectives, hang out. Suspend your travel plans.

The second draw could be emphasizing that this is particularly important for your elderly loved ones. (the Dog + the Lilies).

The Dog can also represent your best friend, soulmate, romantic partner, and the Lilies sometimes symbolize sexuality. So… if you are isolating at home, in limbo, with your spouse or lover, you may want to rekindle that physical love connection.

I asked Spirit if they had a message for the world, however, these cards, pointedly, apply to me today.

This morning, I could not stop nagging my partner because he had bartered some of our firewood for lotus posts. “That wood wasn’t free,” I said. “Think about the time and sweat and sore backs we’ve invested in cutting the trees up, splitting them, lumping the wood from here to there. I’m still paying monthly for the log splitter,” I said. “We need wood as well to heat our home. Any extra will be perfectly seasoned for next year” I said.

Like the figure on the Four of Pentacles protecting his coins, I horde our firewood. I am living in a mindset of scarcity.

Spirit’s message today is to let go. Stop clutching. Have faith. Living in fear of scarcity, putting more value in my physical possessions as opposed to my heart-centered connections, I become the obstacle, the mountain, that impedes the vision of my true purpose.

The message today says to surrender fears of an unheated house or an empty larder. Surrender doubts that Spirit won’t provide. Trust in Spirit, release the material, stand up, and continue down your soul’s true path. In the end, it is the emotional connections that nourish us, not our physical goods.

A mountain casts shadows. This obstacle that faces us today, I believe, has to do with the shortness of the winter days and the limited daylight.

When the hours of darkness stretch forever, sometimes, our inner strength and confidence can falter. Be mindful that the inner glow that can sustain us the winter months might be faltering for some.

Cast the warm energy of kindness and attention on the people around you, to re-ignite their courage.

The Chariot represents self-discipline and determination to move one’s goals forward despite obstacles. The two sphynx in front of the Chariot symbolize opposing energies that need harnessing to pull together. We may need to balance our needs and our wants, our masculine and feminine sides, the instinct to nurture with the urge to delegate, or aligning our material goals with our spiritual goals.

The driver of the Chariot does not hold any reigns. He moves forward with will-power alone. The stars on the canopy and his crown symbolize that his connection to the divine fuels his resolve.

The Mountain is a reminder that we WILL encounter obstacles and challenges on our journey. We may be the source of the roadblocks or the world around us might be placing barriers before us. In either case, tapping into the Divine will help us determine whether to drive over or around the obstacles and will give us the strength to do so.
